Christina, I appreciate the work you are doing in educating the public about this disaster of our medical environment.

It is only through education and knowledge that we can deal with these issues. But the Medical world seems to want to operate in a state of Denial.

This months issue of ASHRAE Insights, ASHRAE Insights at:
    http://www.ashrae.org/publications/detail/16270

“Some 700,000 cases of surgical site infections reportedly occur each year, leading to time away from work, degraded life style, suffering, and in some cases, death. ”

This article is dealing ONLY with the Surgical Room issues! The article goes on to describe how ASHRAE is funding research to attempt to reduce this exposure via how the handle the air in the room.

The don’t go on to relate that already, they are doing 100% air exchange in the surgeries today! and that the problem is pricnipally in the bacteria’s physical presence on surfaces.

There is however an AIR solution using a Technology that NASA developed for space flight. It is called Radiant Catalytic Ionization (RCI) and it kills bacteria and virus’s on all surfaces that the air comes in contact with, BY MEANS OF THE NATURAL OXIDIZERS IN THE AIR!.

It is shown to even kill the dreaded Avian Flu Virus 100% and maintain an environment that will not allow disease to flourish. see http://www.purifyingair.com Click on “Enter the Library” to view and/or print the research documents.

Again, I thank you for your efforts in your commitment to this war on disease!

Germs and MRSAs might be small, but they pose a big problem in healthcare environments. Man & Machine has spent years developing products to fight the spread of MRSAs and other harmful microbes. MMI has created keyboards with no cracks, crevices or seams, which means that germs do not have a place to hide and grow. So disinfecting our really cool keyboards is quick and easy

Our non-porous, latex-free, silicone rubber keyboards and mice are waterproof, dust proof and highly mess-resistant. Most importantly, their rugged construction allows them to be cleaned with alcohol, 10% bleach solutions and other chemical disinfectants.

In environments such as hospitals, where MRSAs can cause serious infections, Man & Machine keyboards definitely puts the power of infection control at the users’ fingertips.

You can check out the products at http://www.man-machine.com

  3. There are some established, practical, economical, demonstrated, heavily-tested and validated protections against MRSA. In use in the US, Canada, and in many countries, including hotels in SE Asia. Ignored thus far by politicians in Virginia, and with interesting events there, particularly.

http://tetradgroup.com/healthysafe gives some pointers, access to lots of tech material.

  4. Bill says:

I am being told that only two cases of MRSA have been found at Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital in Massachusetts. I know who the two are for Oct.2007. Anyone else know of others ?

  5. Keith Flint says:

    Christina,

Once again I would like to applaud your efforts to create a venue of interdisciplinary communications for both those who treat and those who need treatment.

In my prior post, I mentioned that it is possible to destroy the MRSA contagians on surfaces wherever the treated air comes in contact with surfaces! Using an available product to treat the air economically and safely, with a technology developed within NASA research. It is recognized by NASA and the Space Foundation on the internet. Three months ago I acquired a Medically approved “Water Ionization & Alkalizing” machine from Japan. This is used in over 250 hospitals there to cure many of the diseases that Western culture tries to heal with drugs.

One of the features of this water ionizer is the development of pure, but acidic water. This water treats external infections of MRSA very effectively. see blog on http://www.purifyingH2O.info of elderly man with severe abcess in groin area. No anitbiotics could heal it, but one week of soaking the packing with acidic water allowed to heal, to Doctor’s surprise.

Many doctors have agreed that Disease cannot thrive in an Alkaline body! we now can achieve this condition in days instead of months, using the Ionizing Alkaline Water process by Enagic of Japan. See 51 pages of information at http://www.purifyingH2O.com

this is a good article. MRSA is no joke. I had it and battled boils and skin rashes for over a year. it makes you real tired, weak, and depressed. i think i got it from an open cut on my shoulder. i was bench pressing at the gym and rubbed against someone else’s sweat. i wrote a lot about it on my site at http://www.infectioncures.com

I have MRSA. Anyone that thinks it is a game its is one of the worst thing any man or woman can go through.I have been fighting it since July 2006 and its not fun.Im always sick or taking meds for it.I have took Doxycline 4 months and still takeing it today.I have been in the hospital 4 times for meds through IV.II will just be glad when i can say im cured and can live my life of no worry or same or scared to go around my family,or my grand children.I have grandkids im scared to go around cause im scared they may get it from me and i couldnt live knowing i gave it to anyone else.Im waiting for my plastic surgery real soon. This is to get all my scares gone or faded to where people cant see them.GOOD LUCK TO ALL, JUST BE CAREFULL,AND GOD WILL SHOW USE ALL THE WAY TO FREEDOM FROM THE DEVILS WORK.

  11. Keith Flint says:

Lisa, the hospitals of Japan don’t have the problems that the Hospitals of America have. They use purified water that has been stripped of its hydrogen, to the point that it measures below 2.7 pH. This water kills MRSA and helps the wounds heal, often without scars.

I have given this water to many with Fungal, bacterial, MRSA and other external ailments and have seen the speed of healing that occurs..

Your body is 75-80% water and no bacteria can withstand the oxidizing effects of this passive, oxidizing water.

It functions as a mild form of Hydrogen Peroxide, performing the disinfecting qualities while being mild enough to help the healing and maintaining a disease free condition.

We who own the machines from Japan give the water away freely to those who will come get it. We want it’s discovery to be natural.

    Blessings

You all have no idea what I have been through with MRSA. If I didn’t live in the New England area, I would be dead now. In fact, I was for a while. I contracted MRSA in July 2006 as a byproduct of laparoscopic gall bladder surgery. I had some complications and had follow up lap surgery. The last thing that I remember is talking to my family until I woke up two weeks later. Apparently, I was subjected to emergency surgery and diagnosed with 1)sepsis, 2)toxic shock syndrome and 3)MRSA Enteritis. I have always been a nitpicker regarding sanitation. Heck, I won’t eat from a salad bar or a potluck (even at my church!) I probably got it through a catheter or an IV. Apparently I coded for 5 minutes following a complete loss of body functions (heart, lung and kidneys) and then spent two weeks in a coma. I had a death experience and then came back. When I woke up, all that I could move were my fingers. Even though I was only 40 years old at the time, two weeks in a coma had devastated my body. I couldn’t walk, talk, feed myself, or do anything else that would give me personal dignity. I am positive that my surgical team saved me because I was at a New England teaching hospital and they are on top of these things. I thank God for my survival.

Since July 2006, I have had 14 surgeries. MRSA has come back on me twice even though I have tested negative. I have had severe intestinal blockages resulting in many bypasses and 1/2 loss of my small intestines. I do not absorb nutrients as before and I suffer from perpetual hemoglobin, B12 and calcium deficiencies. I cannot eat enough or absorb enough of the vital dietary components no matter what I do.

Sometimes I feel as though I am living with cancer or another disease for which I could suffer a relapse. I no longer feel my toes in my left foot because the drugs used to rescucitate me compromised my circulatory system. I walk with a limp and have sever pain when it is cold. I have a handicap placard for this reason and so many people look at me funny because they think I am too “young” to have a “real problem.”

Little does anyone know what pain I have been through. All I can say is that my faith and my humor are keeping me on the top side of the dirt. If there is anyone out there who needs to talk about what has happened to them, please contact me. I have been through it all, including swine flu etc.

I believe that I am still here because there is more work for me to do. If you need support, contact me.

Just want to suggest if you purchase sticky mouse traps an place them at garage door openings an behind comode you will be amazed at spiders that you will catch. I have done this for years an also keep one in our camper as it is stored. TThis might help some one not get bitten.

  15. Charles Hess says:

Place sticky mouse traps at garage door entrances along wall an especally behind comode. This will catch a lot of spiders an might savee someone great pain if bitten.

  16. DeAnn Cruse says:

I have a spider bite and went to have it lanced at a hospital. They also packed it. 3 days later the packing came out and its still hard around where they lance. Is that normal? Plus its red around it every now and then.
