Do you know about the Robin Hood Fund? This is a really nifty charity site appealing both to the fun and to the serious. Make a wish, either naughty or nice, and the users vote on who’s wish to grant. That is the ultra short version, read more about it here.
Anyway, there is a wish on there from an MRSA victim:
I’m wishing for a mobile scooter because a year ago, I had surgery done to my left knee. It was supposed to be a simple day surgery, but it turned out to be a long stretch of 2 horrible months. I caught MRSA, from I don’t know where, and ended up getting 8 surgeries on my knee within a 2 month period. I am at my maximum recovery right now, but I can’t bend my knee, So it makes it difficult to get around. I can walk on it, but only for very short periods of time. The more I walk on it the sorer it gets. Its like I’m damned if I do…damned if I don’t. I was starting to get really depressed, due to the fact that I am more or less housebound. I don’t own a car, and I can’t even ride a bicycle, becasue of my left knee (My doctor’s that were involved in my surgeries, say that my leg is naturally fused, and to get another operation, I risk the fact that I may get MRSA again). So any help would greatly be appreciated.
I know I can identify, and some of you might as well. If you’re interested, help this person out, I know it would be much appreciated.

This sounds very much like a scam that was run awhile back. This person should be checked out thoroughly before any donations are given to them.
Just thought I would give a heads up.
