Brandon, a 2 yr old boy is discovered to have a CA-MRSA infection after a fall. From the Missouri News Tribune:
On May 4, two-year-old Brandon Stafford of Jefferson City was happily bouncing up and down on a trampoline while visiting his father in Memphis, Tenn., when he landed on his leg. While it didn’t seem to bother him, later that evening he developed a high fever and his leg was painful to the touch, said Jennifer Stafford, his mother.
Following a late night visit to an ER, where it was determined the problem wasn’t a broken bone, Brandon was flown to Le Bonheur Children’s hospital where a blood test determined the problem - a Methicillin-resistant staph aureus (MRSA) infection.
Looking back, it’s a good thing the fall brought out some symptoms, says Stafford, who looks forward to finally bringing her son home to Jefferson City this Friday following three surgeries to flush bacteria out of his hip and a six-week course of antibiotics to knock out the infection.
