Grocery Cart Sanitization

December 28th, 2005 · No Comments

From Milwaukee Journal Sentinal:

We’ve seen SARS-fearing Chinese strap on face masks and U.S.
consumers combat disease-spreading microbes with anti-bacterial soap
and towel-free hand sanitizers.

Now, a De Pere supermarket has mounted a new assault in the never-ending war. A Festival Foods store there is the first to install a Green Bay company’s apparatus for attacking the legions of germs that cling to - it’s true - grocery carts.

The firm, PureCart Systems, has yet to sell its device; the De Pere unit is a test case. But in a germ-conscious world, there is rising interest in battling bacteria and viruses on many fronts, including the grocery cart rack.
