WAUKESHA, Wis. — Health officials are keeping a close eye on the threat of a new strain of super germ that can eat flesh.
Six months ago, Dee Dee Wallace developed an infection about the size of a quarter on her backside.
The first doctor put her on antibiotics. But soon, another boil developed on her knee, and it was worse. She made four trips to doctors before she finally got the right diagnosis — methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA.
The flesh-eating bacteria caused a 7-inch hole in her leg, which had to be closed through surgery.
“I was scared to death. (The doctors said), ‘You’re definitely going to have plastic surgery. I have to remove a big part of your knee. You might lose your leg. You might lose your life,’” Williams said.
MRSA is a new strain of staph infection, according to experts.
University of California, Los Angeles researcher Dr. Loren Miller is tracking the “super germ.”
“It was essentially a non-problem five years ago. And now, it’s a huge problem,” Miller said. “They seem to be causing infection a heck of a lot more easily than we recall in the past. And they seem to be more contagious than the staph (infection) that seemed to be floating around previously.”

There should be a Holiday called Medical Staff Day .Nurses and Doctors are exposed to so much and put there family at risk to stuff like Mrsa, the fleash eating Mrsa is scary .I was a caregiver for a Mrsa patient that had a extreme case.I stick cloth in his 7 inches in numerous holes in his body with medicine to help kill the bacteria ,Mrsa is very contagious and it is airborne ,it can be treated ,god bless and help those tha have it.I count my blessing ,that I do not have it,it is truly a very scary bacteria.

I am a 44 year old white man who has been in excellent health all of my life. On December 31, 2007 I developed a severe cellulitis on my buttock. The cellulitis spread like wildfire overnight and on January 1st, I was in the emergency department getting a scalpel incision and drainage to allow it to drain. On Jan. 2, I went BACK to the ER to have it redone because it had spread dramatically again. I was admitted this time however and taken to surgery the next morning where the cellulitis was debrided. I was found to be MRSA positive in my wound. I was discharged after 3 days on the weaker antibiotics, and within ten days I relapsed again with a NEW cellulitis on the other buttock. Back to O.R. I went for another debridement. Since Jan. 1st, I have been in the hospital four times, had surgery three times and have had every antibiotic available to kill this MRSA to no avail. NOTHING has worked so far, including I.V. Vancomycin. Now I am on Zyvox which costs $2,800 for the course of antibiotics and it is EXTREMELY TOXIC!!!!! I am probably going to die from this infection because my white blood cell count is dangerously low and I have no way to fight off other infections. Plus the Zyvox is giving me Pseudomembranous Colitis as a parting gift.
LISTEN PEOPLE:
MRSA IS THE NEW EPIDEMIC OF THIS DECADE. HAVE YOUR LOVED ONES CHECKED FOR COLONIZATION OF MRSA. AND DO NOT TAKE ANTIBIOTICS FOR SIMPLE COLDS AND MINOR INFECTIONS AS THIS IS WHAT IS KILLING ME. I AM RESISTANT TO ALL OF THEM NOW ALL BECAUSE I DIDN’T WANT TO BE SICK IN FLU SEASON.
OMINOUS WARNING, BUT YOU ALL HAD BETTER LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE.
WASH YOUR HANDS AND BODY WELL EVERY DAY AND TOUCH ONLY WHAT & WHO YOU HAVE TO.
God help us all.

I can identify with the last post. This is the new plague, and The medical community & government aren’t taking it seriously.
I’m currently fighting for my life on my own…another American with no insurance/no desire to take antibiotics again.
I’ve been taking colloidal silver, oregano oil, magnesium, probiotics, and turmeric throughout the day. I also strictly eat organic, raw fruits and veggies, green kombucha and lots of lemon water. I’m basically concentrating on alkalizing my body, since bacteria thrives in acidic ph. I am killing the infection on my own, and it’s working well!!!
You have to change your eating habits and maintain a positive attitude. Watch lots if comedies and laugh! Do light exercise and lots of slow stretching daily! Breathe!!!
If you don’t change your life for good, you can die from this.

Also, when bandaging mrsa wounds, I apply a Mixture of milk of magnesia, Epsom salt, iodine, hydrogen peroxide, and oil ( I prefer hemp oil ).
You want equal parts of the first 2 ingredients (1 tbs of each) but only tiny amounts of the final three. I add about 5 drops of hydrogen peroxide, 4 drops of iodine and 1/2 tsp of hemp oil. I mix it well, apply it directly on the bandage and slap it on the wound. The salts kill the mrsa and dry up/ draw out the infection..works for me. I’m cautious about putting this in delicate areas…it can burn a bit…

Adding a few drops of tea tree oil helps, too
