Past studies indicate that nasal or skin colonization with Staphylococcus aureus occurs at a higher rate in people who abuse drugs and in addition poses an increased risk of subsequent infections in injection drug users.

My thought is that 6 years ago they weren’t watching for MRSA as much as now a days. Any how, it is obvious why drug users are found more with the this disease, MRSA.
