Lincolnton, NC School Closed with 30 cases of MRSA?

September 10th, 2006 · 2 Comments

I *just* received this in my email - how timely, and ultimately, how frightening:

To whom it may concern,
A Public School in Lincolnton North Carolina has just been closed with 30 cases of MRSA.
This information was received from a relative whose children attend this school.
I found your address while surfing the wed to learn about this disease.
Please investigate.

I will surely keep my eyes open about this - I think there was a reason I sat here pouring over all of these schools/students stories tonight. Keep these kids in your prayers and pray that their infections remain minor. If anyone related to this happens upon MRSA Notes, please look around all you want, and join our MRSA support forum at MRSAResources, we would love to have you and help you find the information you need to know.

I think this is an exaggerated rumor; our news station said there are 5 - not 30, 5 - cases and the school was not closed, but measures are being taken to disinfect and sanitize the areas affected

That is very good to hear, Amanda - thanks for letting me know about that!
