MRSA on CNN

May 17th, 2006 · 4 Comments

Another mention in the mainstream media - these are few and far between, but thankfully MRSA is getting a little more attention every day.

April, one of our forum members, and her family were featured on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 Degrees tonight. Way to go April!! April told the story of her infection and how it has been treated (or mistreated as the case was for a long time), and how her family, thankfully, are not carriers. April doesn’t know exactly where she contracted her CA-MRSA, but we are so thankful she is using her experiences to help other people.

I will update when a transcript becomes available on the CNN website. Thanks again, so much, April - you did a fantastic job!!

I just wanted to thank you for bringing that story to T.V. I have been treated for a staph infection twice in the past year and a half. They took a culture both times but never told me it was MRSA. I called after seeing your show and then they told me the cultures had come back MRSA positive. I would never have found out had I not seen your show. I am now seeking treatment. I am not sure what to do yet, but I am trying to educate myself. Thank You again for airing this show and please tell more people.

Bob - that is great - I am so glad to hear it helped you. We can tell April til the ends of the earth that she has done a great and helpful thing, but one comment from someone like you makes that known for sure. Thanks so much for taking the time to let us know, and please feel free to come join the discussions in our forum (http://www.forum.mrsaresources.com/).

    Bob,
Good luck with the staff infection, at least now you can find out all you can and prevent others from getting it. I just want to say I thank this web page and all the info put out. If it was not for these ladies and men in here i would have not know as much as i know now! I am so blessed to have a group of people like you all to support me and back me up! BTW i just heard it aired on my local news broadcast. hmm I Guess i missed that. Good the more people that know about it the better they are. Love and prayers to all!
