This is another good one from The Guardian - they have lots of good MRSA info, I think, because The Guardian thrives on sensationalism and has discovered MRSA to be a good topic. Regardless, check out this article, it answers some general questions about MRSA:
- What is MRSA?
- How dangerous is MRSA?
- What about the new killer MRSA? (<–this is PVL producing MRSA, which we have been seeing in much greater proportions than they have in the UK)
- What about Clostridium difficile?
- How prevalent is MRSA in hospitals?
- What do the latest figures show?
- Why has MRSA rates risen so rapidly?
- What is the government doing to tackle MRSA?
- What do the experts say?
Keep in mind, this is a UK based paper, so they are talking about UK figures, which, especially in the case of PVL producing MRSA, are dramatically different in North America. And don’t miss the links underneath the article, they are a great source of information as well.
