Thanks to DoctorRW, here is a link to a .PDF document regarding Vancomycin and the four most recent antibiotics for use with gram positive antibiotic resistant infections (yes, that is our MRSA). The drugs are Linezolid (Zyvox), Quinupristin-dalfopristin (Synercid), Daptomycin (Cubicin) and Tygecycline (Tygacil). There is some basic, easy to understand information about each drugs, and accompanying case studies that you might find interesting as well. The document is from Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine and can be found here. Thanks, RW!

Hey read this and then at the bottom where it says click here for the whole story click on the word here. Then it will open so you can read it. What I found interesting was the story about the 18 yr old girl hospitalized for knee pain and feeling sick, she has MRSA in her knees and they didn’t know it was all inside her body.

Could MRSA be making a persons white cell count low and make them feel sick a lot without any out right wounds or sores showing? Like an internal infection using up all your white cells to fight it off?
