As if the last two stories weren’t enough, 3 athletes at a Baldwin County, Alabama high school have been diagnosed with staph infections, one of the students with antibiotic resistant MRSA. Anybody paying attention to this? Just a few weeks into the school year…
Three recent cases of staph infection at a Baldwin County high school may be indicative of a national increase in such illnesses, health officials said.
A potentially dangerous type of staph infection that’s resistant to several types of antibiotics — once seen mostly in hospital patients — is now being spread in the community, said Dan McRae, director of infection control at Springhill Medical Center.
Earlier this week, Baldwin County Schools officials said that three Daphne High School football players were diagnosed with infections, but all were expected to be ready for Friday’s game.
Get well soon, guys – and here’s hoping Staph never touches your lives again!

My husband had knee surgery and developed MRSA 2 weeks out due to site opening and me not cleaning his wound well enough. He was put on several antibiotics but what worked for him was Colloidial Silver ( it has no side effects and bacterias do not develop a resistance to it! ) Research especially Swedish and European studies with actual control groups are very interesting! Did you know that it was used before the first antibiotic (Penicillin ) was discovered? Read, research and decide for yourself. It’s a matter of time before Staph is Vanmeicin resistant too!
