Every couple of months, rumors swirl that staph infections are becoming more common locally. The truth is it’s hard to tell, but in the meantime public health officials have tips on how to prevent it.
Staph is not a reportable disease, meaningthe Humboldt County Public Health Branch does not keep statistics onit. But two of its employees said methicillin-resistant staph has beenaround for some time locally.
