I surely am sorry I missed the chat last night. Marshall came home a day early due to the hurricane getting ready to run over us, and his flight came in right smack in the middle of chat time. And I had a nice wound on my leg to contend with from our hurricane prep which kept me in the bed the rest of the day and night (see THAT story on my personal blog).

I recently had a MRSA infection in the perineum and had to have a 3” by 2” section of skin cut out of me. I was in the hospital for 3 days on antibiotic drip. It took 10 weeks for the wound to heal. I was well for a few weeks and then got another abcess in the same area, which was not as large or painful. A doctor gave me an ointment and the abcess healed. I am so afraid of getting another abcess because I can not afford the time off work. I believe I have the MRSA colonized in my nose as I have had a cold and bloody nose for almost a year. I am reading everything I can online. Do you have any suggestions for me.

Hi Maureen – I think you should probably seek another doctor to help you – if you have an infectious disease specialist in your area, that would be the very best option. Good luck to you!
