Welcome to September’s Theme Day at b5media’s Science and Health Channel! This month we are featuring Top-Ten lists:
At A Dozen Steps, Mark W. is overwhelmed with visions of top-ten lists when he lives in more of a base 12 world, but he has mostly settled on one: The Top-Ten Posts at A Dozen Steps. If you read on through the post, you might just find another.
Hsien at A Hearty Life offers 10 places to learn more about your heart (besides, of course, my favorite - A Hearty Life!).
Mary Emma has 10 tips for Alzheimer’s patient caregivers to keep yourself fresh and spirited. All caregivers can take a page from Alzheimers Notes here - it is very important information - don’t neglect yourself!
At Autism Vox, Kristina uses her vast knowledge of philosophy, the classics and autism to propose a very interesting list of Ten Reasons Why Socrates May Have Been Autistic.
Cory at Baldiness has a humorous look at ten things that bald men don’t have to worry about! Although that is nice and convenient, I am keeping my hair, thank you very much!
Gloria has written a list of her Top 10 Cancer Beaters at Cancer Commentary, and this is a great basic list for better all around health. Who wouldn’t want to prevent any diseases that we possibly can?
From Laura at CFS Squared is Ten Reasons To Make Your Bed - she is right on with this one. Is my bed made yet? Nope. I will go right now…
Rob at Diabetes Notes has Top Ten Things No One Tells You About the Stupid Beedies Before the Universe Up and Gives It to You. This is well worth a read whether “the beedies” has touched your life or not. Hilarious.
Ruth at Eating Fabulous has a list of her 10 favorite Autumn fruits - don’t miss the Avocado alibi/commentary - yummy and yikes!
Grace has a top ten list of supplies to have in a flu pandemic, at Flu Patrol. As crazy as the world is today, it is always good to be prepared, and Grace’s list will help get you there.
At Genetics and Health, Hsien has a list of the Ten Most Common Inherited Genetic Diseases and their frequency in the UK. It is too late for me, but be sure and read up on those so you can consider what you might be passing along to your children!
Our favorite Homely Scientist, Tris, has produced a list of the top 10 things he loves about science. He and I are much alike - we love all things nature and love to make messes.
Heather has called me out in a big way in her list on Lively Women, Top Ten Excuses for Not Exercising. Um, I use 1, 3, 6, 9 and 10 on a very regular basis - how about you? What’s your excuse?
And finally, here at MRSA Notes, I have a list of 10 ways to keep MRSA out of your home. My hope is that you will heed my advice and do these small things that can keep MRSA and other dreadful bacterial and viral infections from knocking at your door!

Autism Vox » Top 10 Reasons Why Socrates May Have Been Autistic // Sep 7, 2006 at 11:00 pm
[…] Post-diagnosing autism in historical figures (including Thomas Jefferson and Brother Juniper) can be seen as something of a parlor game in which one foists textbook characteristics of autism upon individuals whose neurological make-up we can never really know. Indeed, one can risk reinforcing stereotypes of autism—-of the “idiot savant,” of autistic individuals having a lack of empathy or emotion—and reading “autism characteristic” where there is eccentricity. Nonetheless, for my post for b5media.com’s Science and Health Channel’s September Theme day of “Top 10 Lists,” I have decided to just this by writing the Top 10 Reasons Why Socrates May Have Been Autistic. Please note—nota bene—that this is a highly creative (and highly tongue in cheek) effort on my part and that this post makes no claims to historical truth, that it is mere speculation. Caveat, lector! […]

Well this is depressing. Stop writing like that, your posts are spoiling your reader’s mood. Boring.

Your Top Ten List - “10 ways to keep MRSA out of your home” is ten times better than all those other list.
Thanks for making a list like that.
