MRSA Notes

All arrangements are made for Tony & Barbara to go to Montreal. They flew back to Long Island from Baltimore today. It seems like they have boundless energy! I saw some pictures from their trip to Washington DC. I have to ask Christina to put some on the blog for everyone to see.
We’ve been so fortunate in all that has been accomplished up until now.
I got an e-mail from the President of the local chapter of APIC today. She contacted all the members about volunteering to speak about MRSA at meetings in this area. I have learned so much from APIC. I would love to include membership applications to that organization in the mailings we send to physicians. They are really on the cutting edge of the knowledge available today about infection prevention. There is so much that can be done to accomplish the goal of “a world without MRSA…” Wouldn’t it be great if infection prevention professionals got the respect and recognition they deserve? What would it take for insurance companies and hospitals and health departments and medical professionals to take the necessary steps to reduce the infection rates?
