The statewide pilot program, “Antibiotic Roundup,” encourages consumers to take their expired or unused antibiotics to local Meijer Inc. pharmacies for proper disposal. Consumers who do so will receive educational information on how to help stop the development and spread of antibiotic resistance, as well as a gift from Meijer.
Meijer is working with the Michigan Antibiotic Resistance Reduction Coalition and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Foundation to carry out the pilot program, which will continue through April 25.
