Two more people have joined the MRSA lawsuit against a New Jersey prision:
In separate lawsuits made public on Thursday, Philadelphia resident Robert Motley and Victor DelPiano of Atlantic County, said they began exhibiting signs of staph infection shortly after being locked up on unspecified charges.
The lawsuit alleges that the county failed to properly inform its staff and inmates of other cases of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus — an often drug-resistant and contagious infection.
There were never any policies put in place to eliminate or minimize the risk of exposure, according to the lawsuit.

I am a victim of HA-MRSA as a result of a bowel resection performed in Virtua of Marlton, NJ in )Oct. 2006. I spent 31 days in the hospital recovering, was sent home with a would vac which I wore for several more weeks. My husband, who had a bad heart and labile BP, died as a result of the stress of my extended hospitalization.

I had surgery 2 years ago and got MRSA while in the hospital. Of course, doctors did not tell me I had it until I was readmitted 4 days later and had 3 more surgeries. I wished someone had told me prior to being release. Now I have to wear a brace on my leg in order to walk. It almost killed me. My husband and I are starting a non profit organization to inform the public about MRSA. Maybe I can keep someone else from going through the same thing I am going through for the rest of my life. It is a challenge everyday to walk.

Many people don’t realize the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) promotes the landspreading of sewage sludge which can contain staphylococcus aureus. Many sludge victims - people sickened from exposure to sludge — have suffered staph infections. And at least two young Pennsylvania boys died from sludge related staph infections.
