MRSA Notes

British actress, Leslie Ash, had a much publicized battle with MRSA two years ago, and This Is London has a bit of an update on her condition, along with this photograph of Leslie before her infection (bottom) and at present:

An onlooker said, “She looked as though she was having difficulty walking. She wasn’t using the stick all the time but she did lean on it every so often.

“She was taking her time and taking very small steps. Getting in and out of the car seemed to cause her problems. She went to two shops and her husband just waited for her in the car”.

Leslie believes she caught MRSA in the hospital when receiving a pain relieving injection in her spine. The infection grew into an abcess which compressed her spinal cord, causing her to become paralyzed.
