Update on MRSA in Lincolnton, NC

This from WBTV.com in Charlotte:

The MRSA staff infection has been reported among some student-athletes in Lincoln County.

Altogether, there have been five cases with the most recent cases reported this past Thursday.

One case happened before school started and the remaining cases have happened at West Lincoln High School.

All of the people with MRSA are athletes and that’s why the field house was closed last week to allow workers to sanitize the facility with Clorox and alcohol.

Officials believe the situation is under control, but they are still advising students to thoroughly wash their hands.

Thank goodness the situation was not as rumored. If you run an athletic facility, again, the time is now to thoroughly disinfect it before your athletes get sick. Prevention is so much easier.
