Your Cellphone, an MRSA Biohazard?

May 26th, 2006 · 4 Comments

Clean your cellphones and remote controls to remove bacteria! Eww!Yep, it is. And while we’re at it, your remote control is too. Do you ever clean that thing???

Men’s Health magazine has always been at the forefront of bringing attention to MRSA when no one else has. They currently are running an article about common biohazards in the home, and the one that concerns us at MRSA Notes is
the cellphone.

How to Beat it: Sanitize your cell once a week with Clorox disinfecting wipes (or any of the supermarket-brand clones). “The wipes won’t get into the internal parts of the phone and damage it the way a spray might,” says Gerba. If you want more peace of mind, consider Motorola’s new i870 cellphone ($300 with a 2-year Nextel contract). The i870 comes treated with AgION Antimicrobial, a very fine ceramic powder coating that contains silver ions, the same substance that’s woven into some gym apparel to help inhibit the growth of bacteria.

Maybe I can sweet talk Jayvee at Cellphone9 into writing something up about this phone, as I can’t seem to find it on his site just yet. This sounds like a great thing for all of us germophobes!!

For now, if you are interested, here is the page about the phone at Motorola.

LOL I am sure you are disinfectant happy. So many people are, but so many others would never think about wiping down their phone, or their remote control. Heck, they dont even think about wiping down those nasty remote controls in the hospitals! Yuck.

I know cell phones are dirty, as it can be a breeding ground for worst types of bacteria including that of “STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS” which can cause illnesses from pimples and boils to pneumonia and meningitis.
This problem never worries me as I have found the perfect solution to a 99.9% cell phone disinfectant. The product that I recently used is called CELLITIZER. I have tried it and had my phone tested. Imagine initial swabbing test done from my phone (before use of CELLITIZER) was 812 RLU (Relative Light Unit). After use of CELLITIZER, I had my phone swabbed test again and the result really amazed me…6 RLU!!! WOW… Never seen such cell phone cleaner that really cleans.
The product convinced me but part of me couldn’t believe its efficiency so I grab the opportunity when the maker of CELLITIZER participated in a Beauty Health & Wellness show held at the 3rd floor of SM City Cebu City, Philippines. The company showcased a series of demonstration that awed onlookers on how filthy their cell phones are and true enough many audience were amazed with the result. One result showed 4,098 RLU before testing and after the use of CELLITIZER showed 25 RLU result……This time all doubts are gone.
I highly recommend everyone to use it so you don’t protect only yourself but your family and loved ones as well. Good luck CELLITIZER. You have one hell of a product. Congratulations……Kudos.
By the way, this is not an advertisement(I’m not even paid doing this). I just want to share this experience to all as I’m really very satisfied with CELLITIZER. Good and useful products need to be make known so manufacturers would be encourage to create effective and useful products. Try it. Visit their website: http://www.cellitizer.com or jot them a note at info@cellitizer.com
